Baby Birth Announcements

The arrival of a new member of a family is one of those milestones that parents like to share with their friends and relatives. The best way to do so is with a birth announcement, and there are many types from which to choose. Typically, birth announcements include such information as time of birth, height and weight, name, etc; and traditional colors are blue for a baby boy and pink for a baby girl. They may also contain the baby's first photograph. A frequently used printing technique for birth announcements is letterpress. Letterpress printing is relief printing of both text and images using a 'type-high bed' printing press and movable type. In this type of printing a reversed, raised surface is inked and then pressed into a sheet of paper, resulting in a positive right-reading image. Another way to go about it is to give the announcement a theme, depending of the time of the year that the baby is born. An announcement for a baby born in December for instance, might include a Christmas motif.
